Fitness Testing will begin on Monday, September 14th, and take approximately two weeks. Our first mile run is scheduled for Monday, September 24th. There are six fitness tests based on the State of California's Fitness Standards. They are: Mile Run, Curl-Ups, Trunk Lit, Push-Ups, Sit & Reach, and BMI (Body Mass Index). PHAT HAWKS:
Is an Acronym for Physically Healthy Active Teens. We the Physical Education department are awarding students that have met or exceeded the criteria for the award. They are - pass all 6 components of the Fitness Standard, must not have received a derogatory mark throughout the trimester, non-suit, detention, suspension, etc...have a current grade of A for the trimester.
Make-Ups:
If a student is absent or misses an assessment or mile run, make-ups are held every Thursday after school promptly @ 2:10 on the lower field.
Parent/Medical Notes:
If your son or daughter is sick or injured, a parent note can excuse a students for up to three days. Riverside Unified School District policy requires a doctor's note to excuse a student after the third day.
